"Girl Scout Week- Gift Sets"

These are the completed gift sets for the Girl Scouts. I had so much fun making these for the girls. Molly passed them out on Tuesday and the girls loved them. The treat boxes were filled with two bag toppers, a peppermint sammich, gum holder, and RSVP pen. You can find the directions for the items from the previous posts from this week. Now I need another project. Maybe I will do some Valentine treats for the teachers. They do love to get gifts and I love making them.

"Notebook Gift Set"

I have a Christmas Gift class on Friday and this is one of the projects that we are making. This class is all "gifts" and no cards. It's everyone's favorite one of the year. This set is a notebook, beaded pen, and a giant paperclip book marker. I decided to not make all the projects with a Christmas theme, just in case they want to use it for something else. I only have one more class after this one and then I am done. I am hoping to find a place that I can teach a class in Iowa. Providing Taylor hasn't scooped them all up. LOL

"Orange Crush Gift Set"

Well, soft ball is officially over. Both girls loved it. Between the two of them we had 4-9 games a week plus 1 practice. We were super busy. Tony was the coach of Molly's t-ball team and the assistant coach of Sarah's softball team. It was a lot of fun. We are having a pizza party for Sarah's team tonight. They are getting their trophies tonight. They took 1st place in the league this year. Woo Hoo!! I made each of the girls a little something to congratulate them.

Bag toppers:filled with those orange slice gum drop things. Sarah's team name is Orange Crush. I printed orange crush off of the computer and stamped the orange slice in only orange and then went over the segments with orange stickles.

RSVP pens: I haven't made these in a while. I forgot how much fun they were. I know the girls will love them. I went to Wal-Mart today to get the pens and my Wal-Mart doesn't sell them anymore. I was bummed, but I found them at Staples. However, they cost more there. Boo!!!

Peppermint Sammiches: I love making these. I whipped them up in like 10 minutes today. I love how easy they are. I just finished putting all the stuff in clear goodie bags and will pass them out to the girls tonight at the pizza party.
Thanks for being patient with me in my absence. I am getting more time to stamp lately so I should be getting back on track soon. Thanks too for your e-mails. They are getting me more excited about stamping, and getting back to my blogging friends.

Paper: Only Orange, Whisper White
Ink: Only Orange

"Autumn Vine Paint Can"

I won this super cute clear paint can at my friend Carrie's open house last weekend. I love it. She had several different ones all made with the Autumn Vine DP with matching RSVP Pens. Inside was filled with 4 stampin' spots and a sale-a-bration stamp set. What a great door prize. The paint can she got from Stampendous. I need to get started on my treats for the girls classes here soon. I am falling behind. Stupid paper cut! I go to the surgeon again today for my 2 week follow up. I can't believe that it has been two weeks already. Things are going well I guess. Still no feeling in my finger but my typing is almost back to normal and I can at finally do my hair and my girls hair. That is a huge plus for me. Have you ever asked your husband to put your hair in a pony tail? Try it. They have no idea what they are doing and it is either too loose, too tight, or crooked. LOL That's it for me today. I am going to get ready to go to the doctor and I will see ya all back here tomorrow.

"Belli Challenge #32 Back To School"

I am cheating a little on this weeks challenge. I misplaced my school stamps and I had to use a picture from last year. I was going to make this anyway so it kind of counts right?? LOL I love making these for the teachers. I know they get so many "teacher" gifts but these are things that they can really use. To find out more information on the weekly Belli Challenges click here. Check out what the other ladies on the design team did for this weeks Back to School Challenge.

"Teal Beachy Gift Set"

Tonight I am doing a work shop and this is one of the projects that we are doing. She requested a beachy color scheme with teal. I found some really pretty paper with teals, olives, and some rusty reds. They will be making a wrapper Hershey Bar, gum holder, peppermint sammiches, and a nugget tin. I bought the nugget tins at speciality bottle. The prices are great until you add tax and shipping but they came out to like a dollar something each so that isn't too bad. For example, I ordered 24 of them and the total was $31 something. They will also be doing a stamped candle and beaded pen as part of the gift set. They are also making 12 cards, 6 thank you and 6 birthday. That will be 4 different cards and they will make 3 of each design. My stampin up order is scheduled to be delivered tonight around 6pm which doesn't help me since the party starts at 6. So I had to come up with different cards this week than I had planned. I knew that the whole country was ordering on the first day of the new catalog as well but I was hoping that I would get it in time. I wanted to use the new papers. Oh well, I have some cute cards for them to make and I know they will like them.

"New Friend Gift Set"

I am meeting a new friend today. She found me through my blog and we found out that we are only live like four miles from each other. So today I am going to her house to meet her and stamp. I thought I would bring her a little gift set. I haven't made one in a long time. I know that you probably miss all the non card items too. So I will make it a point to make more. School will be starting soon too so they will be coming out of my ears. I have a lot of ideas for this school year, some old some new. I found this paper the other day at my local stamp store and it matches the in colors. Which I never use. So it was nice to un wrap my assorted pack of in colors that I have had for like eight months. LOL

"Wedding Favors"

My neighbors niece is getting married in August and wants some kind of hand made favor to put on the tables for the guests to take home. So Lupe (my fabulous neighbor) and I made a bunch of samples for her to pick from. Her colors are red, black, and white. We are going to make the peppermint sammiches for sure and we were trying to talk her into the bag toppers but she decided on the wrapped Hershey bars. However, she didn't care for the ones we came up with. She wants the wrapper to be embossed with the divine swirl cuttlebug embossing folder and she isn't too crazy about the roses. So we are going to do the black and red embossed Hershey bar wrappers and put a sheer ribbon around them and add a thank you tag and see if she likes those. I will post a picture of that when we are done with the samples. We are looking at about 200 of them to make. Whew. Thanks for looking and you all have a great day!

"Popcorn Gift Set"

Here is the completed popcorn gift set for the teachers. They are getting wrapped microwave popcorn, wrapped Mike and Ike's candy, and I am also going to get them movie tickets. I really really like how this all came together. I found the popcorn containers at the $1 at Target last year and I bought a bunch of them. I knew they would come in handy. The greeting on the candy, popcorn and the card all say "Treat yourself to a wonderful day"

For the Mike and Ike's I made a box out of one sheet of cardstock to cover the candy in. I think it looks cool. The red wrap around is crimped and I added some black dots with a marker to add a little extra around the scallops. It's hard to see but there are black dots in the red scallops on the wrapped microwave popcorn too. This was a fun set to make. I know the teachers will like it.

"Spice Jar Gift"

My friend Nancy made similar jars like these for her door prize at stamp mania. Nancy put rub ons on the sides of her jars. I thought they were super cute and I had to make my own. For the candy, I used cherry sours, lemon sours and green apple hard candy for mine and used the matching stamps for the tops. I really love how they turned out. Don't know who is going to get them yet but I had to make them. The box movie candy that you can get at Walgreens fits perfectly in the jars. But you could put practically anything in them.

Here is a close up of the lids. I colored the images with SU markers and punched them out, matted them and that was it. Then I wrapped ribbon around the lids and used a glue dot to add a separate bow. I also attached the paper with glue dots to the lids.

Where can you get these cool jars to decorate you ask? You can get them at Cost Plus World Market. They come in a 4 pack for $3.99. Yes, $3.99. With tax they come to around $1.15 each and when you add the candy it will cost you around $2 per jar. How is that for a cheap cute gift to say thank you or for a quick birthday treat for one of the kids in your kids class. You could also make them for a hostess gift, club project, or teacher gift, the possibilities are endless. The jars come in two different types, round and cylinder. Get the round jars, they have the flat sides and they lean forward. I also heard there are similar jars at Hobby Lobby for 99 cents each and some at IKEA.

"Gift Sets Complete!"

Here they are!! Woo Hoo!! I found these matching tin buckets at the $1 spot at Target. They didn't have purple so I got blue instead. They all match so it is ok. I love the mix and matching thing I have going on with the colors too. I thought it would be fun to have all the colors in each set as opposed to all the same colors. What do you think? I know that they are going to like them as much as I had fun making them. Here are the links to the directions for each project, except for the chocolate coin sammiches. Those you just put together with a glue dot. If I have inspired you in any way to make a gift set or any of the items that you see on my blog, please e-mail me the link to your blog or scs gallery, I would love to see what you made and comment.

"Basketball Gift Set"

I finally finished this gift set. Whew!! I have to say that this was the hardest gift set I have made. I love how it turned out but man, it was tough. I am making it for Sara's daughter. Her school colors are maroon and white. That's it. Just the two colors. That's what made it hard. I tried to find some pattern paper that I could use but I never found the right color. It is pretty cute though. I hope she likes it. Sara's daughter plays basketball but has a knee injury right now. I was only supposed to make the one set but it was taking me so dang long to do it I decided to make two so Sara's daughter can give one to a friend if she wants. I only made one card holder though but two of everything else. I also left the cards blank so she can stamp what ever greeting she wants when she is ready to give them away. I don't own these stamps either. Sara was kind enough to borrow them to me. I feel bad, I have had them since before Christmas. Thanks Sara.

"Roses in Winter Gift Sets"

My parents are leaving today so I had to get these done so my mom could take them back with her. She is giving them to her two friends that threw her retirement party. I finished them up this morning. Nothing like waiting until the last minute ha? By now you all know that this is my favorite gift set to make. I could make this one every day. I love the colors and the stamps. I don't know if you can see the glitter but there is stickles on all the roses and in the center of all the white flowers. It is so pretty. The card holder holds 6 cards plus envelopes. I put three birthday cards and three thinking of you cards inside. The other items are a, RSVP Pen, gum holder, Wrapped Hershey Bar. Click on the highlighted ones for directions. I will be doing a tutorial for the card holder very soon. Stay Tuned.

"Card Class Gift Items"

Here is what I came up with for the gift items part of my class. This will count as 4 projects. They will be making a wrapped Hershey bar, gum holder, 2 peppermint sammiches, and Hershey kiss tent with 3 kisses. I found the perfect kisses too. They are dark chocolate raspberry and the wrapper is silver with red hearts. I bought everyone the tin bucket from the $1 spot at Target and some paper shred so they can take it home in something and give it away if they want. I also have cello bags to wrap it up nice with a bow if they want. On the bottom of the bucket is the stupid price tag that for the life of me I can't get off without leaving a bunch on the bottom. So I took my Giga scallop punch and punched out a scallop circle and glued it on the bottom. I'm sure they will love this cause when I used to take the class my favorite part was the gift items. I am going to try to do at least three per class.

I put some red paper shred in the bucket and wrapped them in a small cello gift bag from Michael's. I might have to get some more tins and do this for the kids teachers. This set contains a M&M pull up holder, gum holder, and nugget box. I just love the colors for Valentine's Day don't you? Here are the directions for the M&M pull up holder. "Football Frenzy 2"

Ok, Packer Fans. This one is for you. I hope you all know that making this goes against everything I believe in. Man, I hope my husband doesn't see this. Other wise I might just get benched for the rest of the season. I do have a friend that is a Packer fan that I am going to send this to. I know she will love it. We text each other sometimes during the games to wish each other good luck. Deep down we both know the other one really doesn't mean it. LOL

"Football Frenzy"

We are HUGE football fans here at the Wick household. Viking fans to be exact. I made two of these sets last night. One for my husband and one for his best friend. I love how they turned out. The stamp set is called "Have A Ball" I don't own it, I am borrowing it and I think I want it. So if any of you have it and are willing to let it go. Please e-mail me. I would love to take it off your hands. This set consists of a gum holder, wrapped Hershey bar, M&M pull up holder, and bag topper. The ribbon I used on the M&M holder is actually purple. My lighting made it look black. Also the foil wrapped chocolate football's I found at the Dollar Tree. They come in those mesh bags like the gold coins. Anyway, the bag was assorted balls. Basketball, baseballs, footballs, and soccer balls. So I bought three bags and got three bag toppers for each kind. I am going to make a few of the sports gift sets to have on hand in case I need them.

"Basketball Gift Set"

Here is the finished basketball set. Now I have all 6 gift sets done. Whew! What a big job that was. I really like how they all turned out. This one had to be the hardest one of them all. I don't have a sports set so I had to have someone stamp me some images and send them to me. The guy that is getting this set is an assistant coach and these are the team colors. They are hard colors for me to work with. Plus I had never done one like this before. But it turned out great I think. I like the pattern paper too. It matches real well. Now I can finish my Christmas cards and start on my January gift set orders. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.
