"Altered Notepads"

I was at Walmart the other day and of course I had to walk down the paper isle. I decided to get a three pack of these notepads. My friend Kristine had sent me one she made like this only hers was thinner and taller. I guess you could say that it was 1/3rd of an 8 1/2 x 11 inch notepad. She put a magnet on the back and it is on my fridge. I thought how cute to make bigger ones for next to the phone, on the desk, next to the computer or to give as gifts. I gave these two away to my demo's kids. They are super easy and a nice cheap gift to make.

Here is what you are looking for. They come in a 3 pack. Here are the dimensions for the second one. Yes, they both are the same but I am picking the second one for the colors. Cut red cardstock 5 1/2 x 10 1/2 score at 8 1/4 and 8 1/2
The pink mat is 5 1/4 x 8 1/8 Glue the pink mat on the back of notepad, then glue the pink mat to the red cardstock flush with the 8 1/2 score line. For the image piece. The pink piece is 5 1/4 x 1 3/4 and the white piece is 5 1/8 x 1 5/8

"Target Notebook & Pen"

I have had these for a while now and finally decided to decorate them. I know you have questions so here are the answers. Yes, I covered the pen, yes, it was a pain in the neck, and yes there is a seem. I don't know if you can do it with out having one. The pen doesn't come apart so I couldn't take off the clicker part. If I could have it would have been way easier.

For the cover and the pen I used Mod Podge. That stuff dries in like 10-15 minutes so it is easy to crank these out.

I painted on the Mod Podge on the cover of the notepad and put the DP on, then rubbed my hands on it to smooth it down, then painted Mod Podge all over the DP. For the pen, I painted Mod Podge on the back of the paper and wrapped it around the barrel of the pen, then painted Mod Podge on the paper. I also ran my finger along the seem to make sure it won't come apart.

If you are planning on doing some of your own let me save you the time of measuring. However, you might want to cut a piece of copy paper and match it up to the cover of the notepad just to make sure before you cut into your designer paper. That is what I did and I noticed that one of the four books was a little longer so I was glad that I didn't cut my paper too short. For the cover, I cut the paper 5 x 7 13/16 and the paper for the pen is 3 1/2 x 1 7/16

"Goodie Bag ~ Covered Note Pad"

Here are the covered 3 x 5 note pads I made for Molly's birthday treat bags. Now I only need to finishe the beaded pens and I am done. I got 15 of them done today but I am three short. So I will finish them tomorrow. I know I did way to much detail for these kids but I can't help it. I just wanted them to look nice. Maybe I will get some orders from these. For the girls note pads I stamped the elephant in Regal Rose and used the stamp-a-ma-jig for the flower, which I colored with markers. Always Artichoke and summer sun. Then I punched holes in the scallops. For the boys notepads, I stamped the monkey and the vine and then stamped the bananas on a seperate piece of paper and cut them out. I love how they both turned out. I get my note pads from Walmart. You get 5 note pads for like $1.37. Here are the directions for the covered note pads.

Cut cardstock 3 x 10 3/8th
Score at 5 and at 5 3/8th
I put two strips of tacky tape on the back of the notepad and adhere the cardstock.
Then I put a small strip of tacky tape on the back and adhere the ribbon to it and tie the ribbon to the front.
They are super easy.
