These little cuties were a thorn in my side this weekend. I had never made them before and I am making them for an order. I couldn't come up with an original idea so I cased my friend Joanna's. I thought how hard can they be right? Now I could make them with my eyes closed but the first several times were not so easy. This information will help you if you want to make them so you don't make the same mistakes that I did. First I cut 6 pieces of cardstock. Scored it, then I punched the holes. Then I couldn't figure out how to add the ribbon. So I went back and looked at my example and I wasn't supposed to punch the hole yet and there was supposed to be white on the front. So I cut 6 more, scored them, then added the white piece of paper. Punched the hole but I still couldn't figure out how to add the ribbon. DUH the ribbon goes between the white and blue cardstock. Then I realized that I didn't have a small enough punch. I was using the CM cutting tools. So I called my demo and drove over to borrow her 1 inch punch. That is the perfect size. For the eyes I used a hand circle punch and punched them on black and ran them through the xyron as well as the noses. I punched two more of the one inch circles for the snowman body. To adhere the Tic Tac Big Pack to the holder, I used Glue lines. Just like glue dots only they are lines. I mostly use them for adhering ribbon so it doesn't move around but they worked great for this.
Here are the directions for the "Snowman Kisses" Be sure to use the Big Packs of Tic Tacs. I found them at Walmart in a 4 pack for $2.50
The Poem Reads:

He’s cute, Cuddly,
& full of good wishes.
He wants to give you
These snowman kisses!

"Valentine Nugget Boxes"
Here are the finished nugget boxes for the Valentine gift set I am making. I will get a picture of the whole set soon. I really like these. I love how people add the silver or gold cord with the sheer ribbon so I thought I would try it here. It isn't as easy as people make it look. Unless it is for you and I am just the dork who can't figure it out. It took a while to get it right, the first few times I couldn't get it to look good. But I didn't give up and I am glad that I added it. It really makes it ya know. Well, in person it looks great, it is hard to tell in the picture.
Here are the directions that I use for the three nugget box.
Here are the directions for all different size boxes.

"Football Frenzy 2"
Ok, Packer Fans. This one is for you. I hope you all know that making this goes against everything I believe in. Man, I hope my husband doesn't see this. Other wise I might just get benched for the rest of the season. I do have a friend that is a Packer fan that I am going to send this to. I know she will love it. We text each other sometimes during the games to wish each other good luck. Deep down we both know the other one really doesn't mean it. LOL

"Football Frenzy"
We are HUGE football fans here at the Wick household. Viking fans to be exact. I made two of these sets last night. One for my husband and one for his best friend. I love how they turned out. The stamp set is called "Have A Ball" I don't own it, I am borrowing it and I think I want it. So if any of you have it and are willing to let it go. Please e-mail me. I would love to take it off your hands. This set consists of a gum holder, wrapped Hershey bar, M&M pull up holder, and bag topper. The ribbon I used on the M&M holder is actually purple. My lighting made it look black. Also the foil wrapped chocolate football's I found at the Dollar Tree. They come in those mesh bags like the gold coins. Anyway, the bag was assorted balls. Basketball, baseballs, footballs, and soccer balls. So I bought three bags and got three bag toppers for each kind. I am going to make a few of the sports gift sets to have on hand in case I need them.
Stamps: Have a Ball

Accessories: M&M's, Hershey Bar, Foil Wrapped Footballs, Purple Grosgrain Ribbon, Circle hand punch, Rectangle Hand Punch, Ziploc Baggie, Silver Brads, Sponge, Trident Gum, Word Window, Giga and Mega Scallop Square, SU Circle Punch, Crimper

"Valentine Gum Holder"
Ok, done with Christmas, on to Valentine's Day again. These are part of three gift sets that I am making. They will consist of a gum, holder, M&M pull up holder, and a three nugget box. And speaking of Valentine's Day. I passed out those ginormous nugget boxes with beaded pens today for the teachers, secretary's, principal, and vice principal. Of course they loved them. When I gave the VP hers, she asked me if I would like to sell something at the valentine dance. Valentine's Day is huge at our school. No one knows why but it is. So I am going to come up with something to make to sell for $1. I was thinking maybe the kiss tents (only making them with 3 kisses instead of 6) or bag toppers, or the matchbook things that I just made for the kids classes. I don't know. I will have to think about it.

"Matchbook Treats"
I specifically remember saying that I was done with Christmas treats. Remember? I was on to other projects. I guess I was wrong. Yesterday I busted out the peppermint sammiches that I made for the kids to take to school for their class and was met with "Mom, we don't want peppermint sammiches" We don't like peppermint" "Can you please make something else?" "Please mom, please" Well, I folded like a lawn chair. I decided to make matchbook candy holders.
Cut the cardstock 8 1/2 x 3. Sore at 5 inches and 1 inch. Decorate the front, attach the candy with a staple and close. I did end up putting another score line next to the 5 inch scored line. They didn't close like I wanted them to. I think it was because there was a lot of air in the M&M package so it made it a little thick. Molly is like me and just had to have stickles on them too. So I added yellow, red, and diamond on the ones with the green ornament. The one with the blue, I added yellow, red, and waterfall. They do look better with glitter. I used the Scor-Pal for these so I could score a whole sheet of paper at once. The peppermint sammiches are in a basket and I am going to put them in the office at school for the teachers. I know that they like peppermint.

"RAK From Sara P"
Is this freakin' cute or what? Sara sent me this cute 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 little hand made I don't know what you call it. Note pad maybe. She also sent three more for my girls. They thought it was so cool and asked me how come I never made these for them before. I was like I don't have a Bind it All. I knew I should have asked for one of these for Christmas. I am totally going to get one. This is the cutest thing ever. I know I would love making these. I think I will have to get it on my own. I asked for a cuttlebug for Christmas. (I use my sizzix right now) My husband said the other night. What was that thing you wanted for Christmas again? A Skittlebug? I think he was just messing with me but I'm not sure. Thanks Sara for the cool RAK and my girls thank you too.

"Valentine M&M Pull Up Holder"
Ok, I am all done with Christmas gifts and candy holders. Now I am on to the next holiday. I have an order for three Valentine sets. M&M pull up holder, gum holder, and nugget box. I love this color combo for Valentines Day. Real Red, Pink Passion, and Orchid Opulence. I made the back Real Red and the front Pink Passion. Directions for these are found here.
No, I am not done with all my Christmas cards but I am kinda tired of them right now. I needed a break. LOL Next year, I am going to do what a lot of groups are doing. Christmas cards all year long. I think they do like 10 cards each month. That is going to be my goal.

"Basketball Gift Set"
Here is the finished basketball set. Now I have all 6 gift sets done. Whew! What a big job that was. I really like how they all turned out. This one had to be the hardest one of them all. I don't have a sports set so I had to have someone stamp me some images and send them to me. The guy that is getting this set is an assistant coach and these are the team colors. They are hard colors for me to work with. Plus I had never done one like this before. But it turned out great I think. I like the pattern paper too. It matches real well. Now I can finish my Christmas cards and start on my January gift set orders. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

"Burgundy Snowflake"
Have you ever had the perfect card in your head and when you went to make it, it wasn't at all what you thought it was going to be? C'mon I know you have. I do it all the time. Well, I just got my paper order in so I could start my Christmas cards. I know I am so late. Anyway, I ordered two packs of almost amethyst and some white grosgrain that I was going to dye amethyst for my Christmas cards. So I sit down tonight and make the perfect card. WRONG!!! It didn't look at all what I wanted. So I tried one with close to cocoa, regal rose, and amethyst. Cute, but not what I wanted. Then I tried, amethyst and lovely lilac. That was a bust too. I was bound and determined to use the amethyst. Seeing how I now have three and a half packs of it. But I can't do it. Nothing was looking good. Maybe because there was to much pressure, maybe I was trying too hard. I don't know. So I changed gears and came up with this. Burgundy and chocolate chip. I love it, however, I don't have a full pack of Burgundy. I think I can make about 20 cards. So I will have to find something else. Maybe I can work something out with the amethyst, and it will cooperate enought to make me a cute card.
Stamps: Snowflakes
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

"Quick Birthday Cards"
I needed a couple quick Birthday cards today. Tony's birthday was Friday and two people that he works with had birthdays a day before and after his. So I needed to make a quick card for them. One is a girl and one is a boy so I made the same card in different colors. You might remember I made the same coral/summer sun one last summer. I am going to make more of these to have on hand in different colors. Maybe some greens, pinks and red. I got the stamps at JoAnn's

"Fore Your Birthday"
This is the card that goes with the golf gift set I am working. I think he is cute. I don't have this fella but Kristine sent him to me so I could make the gift set. The decorative paper is from the DCWV summer stack. Totally a guy color. I stamped the golfer on the paper and cut out his shorts. I colored the image with SU Markers. Today I went out looking for scratch pads and RSVP pens at walmart. They are out of the scratch pads that I use and it doesn't look like they carry them anymore. I did get the pens though. Then I went to staples and got some scratch pads and some other paper for another project that I can't wait to share with you.

"Chocolate Tin"
I made this at my stamp camp. The tin is from Oriental Trading Company. Of all the altered tins I have made, I like this one the best. Maybe it is the paper, maybe it is the overall design. I don't know but I love it. After I decorated the nuggets and the outside of the tin, I punched out the old olive scallop oval and glued that to the top of the lid. Then wrapped a thin strip of paper around the tin adhering it to the top of the tin. Then adhered the vanilla oval on top of that. It sucks that they have to tear it apart to get it opened but oh well ha? I really like how it looks with the band around it so if I was making it again, I would do the same thing.
Stamps: Holidays and Wishes
Paper: Dashing DP, Old Olive, Very Vanilla

"Sage Gift Set"
This is a gift set that we made at stamp camp. I really love this paper. It is from the Wintergreen pack of DP. We made a kiss tent, peppermint sammiches, pop top tin, and hot cocoa holder thingy. In the hot cocoa holder thingy there is a hot cocoa packet, hot cider packet, and two packs of tea. Also we stamped the white paper with snowflakes some stamped full strength and some stamped off. I guess you could say that we made our own background paper. For the top of the pop top tin, I used the Creative Memories cutting tools and cut a circle out of sage for the top of the tin. I also took a small circle punch and punched out a notch so it would fit around the opener. Then added some ribbon.
Stamps: Snowflakes
Paper: Sage Shadow, Whisper White, Wintergreen DP
Ink: Sage Shadow
Accessories: Various Ribbon, Small and Big Tag Punch, SU Circle Punches, SU Scallop Punch, Pop Top Tin, Hershey Kisses, Peppermint Patty's, Tea, Hot Cocoa, Hot Cider, CM Cutting Tools

"Tea For Two Gift Set"
I finally finished the tea gift set. This was a hard one for me to do. I borrowed the stamps from a friend and there was a lot of coloring. Plus I didn't know what I was going to do for it. On the covered notepad. I used one of those fiskers border punch thingys and tried to make the white background look like lace. It does look cool. The card holder is supposed to hold 6 cards plus envelopes. I am making 4 cards plus envelopes for all the gift sets and the tea set cards are too thick. The card holder is bulging. This set includes, card holder with 4 cards plus envelopes, covered 3x5 notepad, gum holder, and bag topper. Also I still have to make the RSVP Pen for this set. I started on the golf one today and I hope to finish that one by tomorrow.
Stamps: PSX, Something to Celebrate
Paper: Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink, Barley Banana, Whisper White
Ink: Sage Shadow, Basic Black, Stazon Black

"I'm a Guest Instructor for Scor-Pal"
Have you heard of the Scor-Pal? It is awesome. You can do multipal scor lines and you don't have to move the paper. Plus the score line is nice and deep. As you know, I do a lot of gift items in bulk and this is the perfect tool for me. Anyway, The Dec/Jan on line magazine is now up on the Scor-Pal website and guess what? I am in it! I was so excited when Diana e-mailed me and asked if I would do a tutorial for this issue. I told her I would be honored to do it. This is only their second issue and I am excited to be grouped in with so many talented ladies. My tutorial is the tent kisses I made. Only we are calling them "Kisses Kit n’ Kaboodle" Here is the link to the tutroials for issue 2. Check them out. There are some great projects. You should also check out the rest of the site too. Lots of fun stuff.

"JoAnna's got blog candy"
JoAnna is giving away some blog candy. All you have to do is tell her which thing she has made is your favorite. If you haven't checked out her blog before. You have to. She doesn't make many cards but she makes a ton of altered things and wrapped candy items. You thought I made a lot. She is the queen of treats.

"Gift Set Pop Top Container"
This also goes with the snowman gift set that I am making. I will post the whole set tomorrow. I get the pop top fruit cups at Costco. They don't seem to have them at the grocery store anymore. We will be eating a lot of diced peaches in the next few weeks. I cut the bottom of the container off with a safety can opener. You can get them at Walmart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond.....you get the idea. They are around $8. What is does is when it cuts the bottom lid off, it leaves kinda a lip and it isn't sharp. After you cut the bottom off and take the fruit out, wash and dry the container. Then you can decorate the tin. After I glued the wrap around, I put the tin upside down. (so that the open part is up) I put four wrapped Hershey nuggets inside, then covered them with paper shred to fill the space. So that when they open it the nuggets are in a bed of shred. To glue the bottom on, I went around the lip of the lid with diamond glaze (crystal effects) and put the bottom back on and set it on the counter. I also put a water bottle on top of the container for a while. Just to have something heavy on it while it dries. It takes about 15 minutes.
