"Just for Fun"

I was so tired from making all those M&M wrappers that I wanted to make something just for fun. I found the pattern paper at Target the other day and it has an adhesive backing. How cool is that? They have about 5-6 different ones. I thought that the flower matched the paper pretty good. It was nice to just sit and relax and not have to stress about getting something done.

"All Aboard"

I made 50 of these pull up M&M holders for a mom at Molly's preschool. Her son is having a Thomas The Train party. These are thank you gifts for these who come to the party. It is hard to see but on the red band I stamped Thank you from Cheery Chat in Real Red. You can see it in real life. It was just hard to get a good picture. She gave me the Thomas The Train stickers to put on the pull tag. They were a lot of work but I think they turned out great. Here are the directions for them.

Supplies
24 inches of Ribbon (red)
7 X 3 ½ Brilliant Blue(back)
6 ½ X 3 ½ Brilliant Blue (front)
2 ½ X 7 Real Red(wrap around)
1 of 1 ¾ X 1 ¾ (stamped image)
2 X 2 (mat) (black)
Stamps
Ink
Rectangle hole punch
¼ inch hole punch
Corner rounder
Directions
Score ½ inch from 3 sides. Two long and one short.
Round corners on top of back piece
Cut flaps to form a box
Punch ¼ inch hole in top of the piece you are using for the front
Tear the wrap around piece
Stamp on the 1 ¾ piece adhere to the mat
Use rectangle punch on 2 sides of the M&M’s (top and bottom)
Tie the ribbon from the bottom of the candy to the top of the candy and through the hole and tag so that the candy can be pulled from the box with out untying the ribbon.

"Pre-School Easter Treats"

I made these for Molly's pre school class. They are having an Easter Party on Thursday. These are "sour cream containers" Cut an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock into 4's (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) then stamp on the paper, roll lengthwise into a tube. (just like a toilet paper roll) then tape. Then squeeze one end shut, tape/glue inside and crimp. Squeeze other end shut in opposite direction tape/glue and crimp. That's it.

Stamps: All Wrapped Up Accessories
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Cool Caribbean, Green Galore, Yo Yo Yellow, Only Orange, Real Red, Pixie Pink
Accessories: SU Grosgrain Ribbon, Jelly Beans, Crimper, Sticky Tape, Glue

I used sticky tape when I made it into the tube. For the ends I used Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. I use this glue for EVERYTHING. I haven't used a tape runner since last August. I love this stuff. It dries in like 5 seconds and I don't go through as much as I did with the tape runners. A 2 oz bottle lasts me 3 months. You can get them at Target for $3.99. You have to try it.

"Oops..... No Greeting Again!"

I was looking for a stamp set to make a card for my mom. I came across the DD Grapes set that I totally forgot I had. In fact, I have never used it. Anyway, I decided to make my mom a card tomorrow and make something with the Grapes set. I really love it in real life. In the scan it doesn't look as good. I Stamped some old olive vines and some eggplant grapes on the white cardstock. Then I stamped some more and cut them out. I also stamped some vines with artichoke. Then I sponged some olive on the edges and background of the card, then I sponged artichoke on the stamped background put some leaves and grape clusters on with dimensionals, added the brads and the ribbon. I also distressed the eggplant cardstock mat. I love how it turned out. But when I was admiring my card I noticed that I didn't have a greeting. In fact, I didn't even leave room for one. I seem to do that a lot. Oh well, It is so pretty I don't think anyone will notice. LOL
Stamps: DD Grapes (retired)

"Nugget Tag Treats"

My sister RaeAnn is a very wonderful and talented piano teacher. I made these for her to give to her students if they did a great job at their lessons. She owns a piano studio and teaches about 45 students. She also does weddings, funerals, etc... and contracts out musicians for events. She is awesome. I cut the ballet blue cardstock 5 1/8th by 1 1/2 and scored 2 inches from each side. The stamped the image on whisper white and punched it out with the small tag punch. Then punched out the large tag in basic black, glued them together and glued them to the ballet blue. I put a piece of tacky tape on the inside to secure the nugget and stapled the ribbon on to close it. Very simple and super cute.

"Pattern Paper Challenged"

I love pattern paper but I never use it. I really want to but I just can't. It isn't my style. I want it to be my style but I just can't figure it out. I see so many cute cards that use pattern paper but I can never figure out which stamps go with it. I know it must come easy to some people but not for me. I am pattern paper challenged. As soon as I saw this paper, I thought of the Nice and Easy Notes stamps. So I dusted off my set (and I mean dusted it off literally) and made this card. The ribbon looks a lot darker in the scan than in real life. I haven't used the Nice and Easy Notes set in forever. It was the very first set that I bought. I think I am going to have to start bringing out some oldies but goodies soon and put them to use. I seem to have a lot of old sets and retired ones that just sit and gather dust.

"Cookies Anyone?"

My daughter Sarah turns "6" Friday and she wanted to bring treats for her class. She isn't the cupcake kind of girl but she loves cookies. So, I bought cookies. Then I thought, how can I jazz up the cookies and make it into a craft. I went to Walmart and bought these CD/DVD envelopes. They are in the envelope isle. 25 of them for $2.47. I am not crazy about their so called "Bold" colors because they look pretty washed out to me. I punched some "similar" colored SU cardstock with the Giga scallop punch. Then found some matching pattern paper and punched out some Mega scallop circles. Glued them together and glued them to the CD/DVD envelope. Then printed out "From Sarah" on the computer and punched them out with my circle punch and punched out matching mats with the larger circle punch. Glued them on and stuffed the envelopes with the cookies and called it done. I think they turned out cute.

Roar.....

I am so lovin' this Wild About You set. I am also loving the scallops. I seem to be in a layout funk. I like this card but it was a lot of work so I think I will only be making one of these for now. I stamped the lion in summer sun then again in more mustard. I cut out the mustard mane and glued it on the summer sun lion. I also added mustard dots for the eyes. Then I sponged mustard over the white piece. I also sponged mustard around the edges. The card is summer sun and I stamped it with the itty bitty background but then sponged mustard over that so you can't really see it anymore. Then sponged the edges of the card with mustard as well.
