"Girl Scout Week - Bag Topper #2"

This bag topper was fun. They always sing the make new friends song at the end of their meetings. You know the one I'm talking about, "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the others gold. A circle's round, it has no end, that's how long I want to be your friend." The stamp set has part of the Make new friends poem. It is from the retired Close To My Heart clear set called Make New Friends. I also thought it would be fun to use one silver brad and one gold one to hold the topper closed. To tie in the song, I bet the girls won't even notice that I did that and I don't think you can see it in the picture either.

I filled these bag toppers with stamped Hershey Nuggets. I stamped on labels and wrapped them around the nuggets. I buy the labels at Walmart, Target or Walgreens. They are in the pen isle usually. I buy the 1 x 3 inch labels. I buy my baggies at Joann's. They come in a 100 pack for $1.50 in the jewelry/bead isle. You can also find them at Walmart in their jewelry/bead isle. They are 3 x 4. The topper is cut 4 x 3 1/4 and score at 2 inches on the 4 inch side. So when you fold it the dimensions are 2 x 3 1/4. The mat is 1 7/8 x 3 1/8 and the stamped piece is 1 3/4 x 3

"Girl Scout Week - Bag Toppers"

This week is Girl Scout week! My youngest daughter wanted me to make something for the girls in her troop to remember her by, since she will be moving soon. So this weekend I came up with a bunch of stuff to fill the treat boxes that I also made. I will be sharing one item each day that will be in the special boxes, as well as the finished set. It was fun to actually make something for a special occasion. It seems like I am just making stuff for no reason and when I am done then I decide what to do with it. I like having projects way better. These are bag toppers. I love making these cause they are so simple and you can put practically anything in them. The stamp set is a long retired Stampin' Up set that I found at a rummage sale several years ago. I found the green M&M's at target on sale this weekend which was nice. "Orange Crush Gift Set"

Well, soft ball is officially over. Both girls loved it. Between the two of them we had 4-9 games a week plus 1 practice. We were super busy. Tony was the coach of Molly's t-ball team and the assistant coach of Sarah's softball team. It was a lot of fun. We are having a pizza party for Sarah's team tonight. They are getting their trophies tonight. They took 1st place in the league this year. Woo Hoo!! I made each of the girls a little something to congratulate them.

Bag toppers:filled with those orange slice gum drop things. Sarah's team name is Orange Crush. I printed orange crush off of the computer and stamped the orange slice in only orange and then went over the segments with orange stickles.

RSVP pens: I haven't made these in a while. I forgot how much fun they were. I know the girls will love them. I went to Wal-Mart today to get the pens and my Wal-Mart doesn't sell them anymore. I was bummed, but I found them at Staples. However, they cost more there. Boo!!!

Peppermint Sammiches: I love making these. I whipped them up in like 10 minutes today. I love how easy they are. I just finished putting all the stuff in clear goodie bags and will pass them out to the girls tonight at the pizza party.
Thanks for being patient with me in my absence. I am getting more time to stamp lately so I should be getting back on track soon. Thanks too for your e-mails. They are getting me more excited about stamping, and getting back to my blogging friends.

"Clear Envelope Candy Purse"

Today is my 15th wedding anniversary. I can't believe it, 15 years. WOW! We don't exchange gifts for our anniversary, we usually just go out to dinner. However, a couple years ago Tony took me to Napa Valley and we stayed in a bed and breakfast, went out to dinner, and in the morning he took me hot air ballooning. It was super cool. But this year we are going out to dinner as a family. The kids like to go out to dinner and we don't do it too often so that's our plan.

These candy purses are so fun to make. They are made out of SU's clear envelopes. I know right, how cool is that! You can put anything in them. I picked Hershey Miniatures. The are pretty easy to make too. This is a picture of the purse opened so you can see where to put the Velcro Dots. Here is a video tutorial on how to make these cute clear envelope candy purses.

"Orange These Cute?"

Get it? "Orange" these cute? I know, I know, I'm "punny" Ok, I couldn't help it. But it is "punny" I saw some one make these before and I thought they were super cute. So I had to make them too. I printed off the greeting from the computer. I used the font size 14 if you want to make them too. I stamped the orange and then went over the sections with orange stickles. Where would I be with out stickles? I love that stuff. Greatest invention evea!!!! I bought a bag of the orange slices and that was enough for 10 baggies. Ok, it was enough for 11 bags but I ate 4. I can't remember the last time I had one of these candies. My dad eats them all the time and I can see why. They are delicious. Teachers and office staff are getting these today.
I get my Ziploc baggies at Joanns. They come in a 100 pack for $1.49. They are the 3 x 4 size. The bag topper is 4 x 3 1/4 scored in half so it is 3 1/4 x 2. I usually do a mat but since these were only one color I didn't but if you did want a mat the mat would be 1 7/8 x 3 1/8 and the stamped piece would be 1 3/4 x 3
These measurements also work with the small SU cello Bags. I just like the Ziploc baggies better.

"Clear Envelope Candy Purse"

Is this cute or what? My friend Nancy showed me one that she had and I just had to make some too. I made this out of a clear SU envelope.* Here is a video tutorial that Nancy sent me for these.* They are pretty easy to figure out though. It is held closed with a Velcro Dot. The circles were made with the Creative Memories Cutting Tools.

First I scored the envelope and put the candy inside and sealed the envelope. After I cut the circles and glued them together I scored them in half and folded the circles. Then put a strip of Scor-Tape on the opposite side of the sealed envelope and adhered it to the inside of the circle. Folded the envelope and added a Velcro dot to keep it closed. I hope that makes sense.

Here is what it looks like when it is opened. This will give you a better idea on how it is put together. They are a cute easy treat to make for a thank you or what ever.

"Class Project"

Here is one of the 3D projects that I am doing for my class. I don't think they have done a bag topper before. The other project I am going to do is a stamped candle. I have to get the candles today. I totally forgot all about them. I am almost ready for my class on Friday. There were two people on the waiting list so I added them to the class. So now I will have 12 people. I am excited. I have all the cards prepped for 30 so I should be safe. They will be making one bag topper and one candle to total 12 projects.

"I'm So Vain..."

You probably think this post is about me...
Ok, I am really not vain, just funny. Since I have been in a slump lately I thought I would do something to make me laugh. Well, I did it. I think this is pretty funny. I decided to make these for my friends that I meet at stamp mania in a couple weeks. I hope they think it's as funny as I do.

I printed my face on address labels and wrapped them around Hershey Nuggets. Here is a close up of me! Um... I mean the bag topper. Some other ideas you can do are print out your kids graduation picture and put them on nuggets and have them in a bowl at the grad party, wedding favors of the bride and groom. Babies first birthday's or any birthday. Or just print yourself and pass them out to your friends like I am doing. Ha ha ha. Good Times! I hope you all got a laugh today. I know I am still laughing.

"Basketball Gift Set Bag Topper & RSVP Pen"

Here are two more things for the basketball gift set I am doing. I have the gum holder, card holder and the cards left to show you. This gift set is coming together nicely. I am lovin' how it is turning out.

"My Nephew's Pre-School Treats"

So, I posted the bag toppers that I made for my girl's classes for Halloween and I got a call from my sister. She was like, I'll take 20 for Roman's class. I said sure, I can do that for him. She said, she was just kidding because we live 2400 miles away. She said that I can make him stuff when we move closer and I can drive them to her. Well, I can't let my nephew not bring a treat to class. That just isn't right. So I made these last night and I am going to send them to her. I am lovin' the blue and orange, if you can't tell.

"Halloween Bag Toppers"

Here are the bag toppers that I made for my girl's classes for Halloween. Aren't they cute? As you all know, I love stickles. I put orange stickles on the cat and black. I cracked up after I put the googlie eyes on. I made 44 of these. 22 for each class. I also made nugget boxes for the teachers and the aids, I will post them tomorrow. I think I will check in the office to see how many ladies are working in there. I might have to make them something since I am done with the bag toppers and the nugget boxes so soon.
